Port Haven Village

TDLs brief was to develop a master plan with staged implementation for a 1200 accommodation village that is environmentally sensitive, budget conscious, low maintenance and great to look at and live in. The challenge faced by TDL in designing a landscape for this high density accommodation development was to ensure that the end result would set a new benchmark for this type of facility. The resulting scheme is a landscape that is capable of withstanding and ameliorating the extremes of climate experienced in the northwest of WA to create a comfortable and attractive living environment. The key to its success lies in the combination of a structural frame work of hardy medium – large native tree species extending through the more spacious service and road corridors with infill planting of lush tropical species in confined areas, all watered via a greywater irrigation system.
